Jobs -Hiring
What is everyone's employer doing about hiring new employees? Has there been a freeze? DH thinks now is a good time for me to start my job search but I think he is crazy.

We’re in a hiring freeze. DH’s company is, too.
I just started a new job (same employer). Because if the freeze my old job can’t be filled. So I’m doing both. From home. With a child.
I honestly cannot think of a worse time to start a new job. I think you’d be hard pressed to even find anyone hiring for any non essential positions.

I'm not sure if we are still actually hiring but we did have someone just start working with us - she had interviewed a couple of months ago. She started her new job working from home, which I think has to be a really awful experience. She's rolling with it, but I feel so bad for her (Not to mention that it's a brand new supervisory position, so it's not like even stepping in where someone left off)

i was out of work last year and havent updated my linked in or any of the job sites and I am still getting emails about jobs looking to be filled. the couple i open though do say work from home but will have to go to work.
while i was looking some interviews i did have were done on the phone and then over skype or face time etc

Thank you all for making it obvious that I am not crazy. We had a girl start on our team 2 weeks ago and its been stressful for her and us to train.

We just hired someone, but she itnerviewed end of February or early March. She sarts Monday, which is weird.
We actiually have 2 positions listed ( one itnernationally) They are vacacies, not expansions.

I didn't see it and have no idea what they said,but I just saw that tonight's 60 Minutes had a segment about job hunting during the pandemic

We aren't hiring right now but, we weren't hiring before the pandemic either.
There are jobs out there - I check my Linked In frequently and some of my favorite headhunters have numerous posts.

Companies are still hiring and I know quite a few people who just started new jobs. That being said, if I had a job already, now would not be the time to leave it. Seniority could be important and I would not want to be the newest person on a team should cuts happen.
