Re: Anne Frank spent 25 months in an attic...

My grandmother survived Auschwitz and being beaten within an inch of her life. She survived because the guard did not want to do his paperwork and convinced the other guards that raping her was enough and they let her go. She was still rounded up. Shipped off on a death train where her mother and sister were murdered. She jumped off of a moving train. Was caught and then sent to Auschwitz. Every one of you can sit on your tushes and stay inside for how ever long you are asked to. Meanwhile my father's mother told my mother's mom that "she suffered too because she had to take a charcoal pencil to draw pretend stocking lines on the back of her legs."

You are all in different circumstances, but never once think you are suffering like those who went to concentration camps or internment camps or death camps did.

I retracted my post because the OP has apologized. She read how other people are struggling and it affected her enough to issue an apology. I truly appreciate that. All we can do is share our experiences and grow.

I apologize. I'm sorry. It was wrong of me to post and I apologize to anyone who is truly going through a difficult time right now. I don't mean to offend nor diminish anyone's feelings.
I obviously did and I'm sorry.

Thank you. I know that you meant no ill will. I guess it was just short-sighted? I think we are all just on edge here.

People throughout history have had to endure horrific circumstances. There will always be someone who had it worse than you, or better than you. But we are still allowed to feel anxious, sad, hopeless, and scared when something like this is going on. Just because we are not hiding from Nazi's, does not mean we don't have the right to our feelings. This is a terrible situation.

Spot on! I can't even deal with the comparisons. It's incredibly irritating for someone to point out what we haven't gone through as if negates what we are going through. It can apply to seriously anything. Like how dare anyone complain about low wages because slaves were forced to work for free. We should all just shut our mouths and do as we're told because other people have had it worse.

Difference is if the Nazis found her, pretty much 100% chance of death.
If I get this virus, pretty good chance of survival.

If Nazis were looking for me, I'd feel differently than I do now, trust me

You nailed it !

Feel free to go hide in your attic. The rest of us aren't afraid of a virus with a 2% risk of death. We are afraid of every other negative aspect of being hidden away in our homes.
