Exactly, why is this so hard to understand. It’s not about being conspiracy theorist or anti-vaccine. Look how they are handling the situation now, it’s not 100% based on science and data. It’s obvious that this has gotten very political.

It’s not hard to understand. I don’t think anyone on here fully understands how vaccines are tested and what the rules are. It’s a whole lot of commenting and arguing on a subject most are not well versed in.
I’d be thrilled if all of you refused to give your kids the vaccine. There would be fewer kids in school and we wouldn’t need these reduced schedules.
So do you really think people are incapable of cutting corners at their job because they are pressured to release something? You think scientists are incapable of this? They are humans just like everyone else. You’re right I don’t understand how testing a vaccine works, because that’s not my job. But I can see what’s going on around me and I will be a little suspicious of a vaccine that pops up in a short time period. It is possible that scientist can cut corners and not test thoroughly to produce something that is market ready.
Sorry, I don’t put my blind faith in anyone. I question things.

Everyone FULLY understands that it is MAY and you CANNOT put a vaccine out in SEPTEMBER and claim it is effective and safe and that it EXACTLY what they are trying to do. Meanwhile, they STILL cannot 100% say for certain how this vaccine behaves, mutates, transmits and affects other parts of the body but they'll have a VACCINE of all things by the fall. Yea, ok. No thanks!

There aren't many corners that can be cut, though. I also don't think a scientist would be willing to risk putting their name to something that is detrimental. The pour their lives into research.
I don't think anyone should do anything they're uncomfortable with. But people are saying that kids will be guinea pigs and they'll be bringing an untested vaccine to market and that's simply not true. If you (the general you) don't want to give it, that's fine but that's no reason to spread false information.

This administration has also claimed they would build a wall and have Mexico pay for it, that coal jobs would return, that they are responsible for factories that were built years before they were in office, that covid was completely under control, that it would disappear by April, that we’ve tested more than any country. Do you really believe a word this administration says? Whenever he has made those claims Fauci has been the first to correct and say, that’s not how it works. I believe science, not a reality tv personality.

If you don't understand the need for long-term studies, I'm sorry, but you seriously lack common sense. You may be very well educated, but common sense just escapes you. How many times is a new pharmaceutical recalled after years of use because it is actually dangerous? Without long-term studies, you cannot say something is safe. You can pull up a list of recalled vaccines from the CDC. They are constantly changing even our existing vaccines to try to make them safer. Anyone who says "the science is settled, vaccines are safe." doesn't understand science. It is never settled. They are always learning more.
They are already saying that there are life long ramifications from getting the virus. How can they be sure the immune reaction from the immunization isn't going to cause those problems? It's a new virus. They really don't know that much about it yet. They don't even know a definite mortality rate lol. Yeah, let's fast-track a vaccine for something we know nothing about lol.  Ridiculous.

How so? It's not meant to stir the pot. I stated it's hypothetical AT THIS TIME. But when a vaccine becomes available, if it ever does, it may become mandated for schools due to previous legislation. It's a valid question like all others.

You can’t 100% say that they full tested this unless you were at the lab when this was happening. So how are you posting facts and I’m posting false information.
Like I said I don’t trust the timeline, that isn’t false information. I also said it’s a hard choice because I’m not sure what I would do. I also did not say because I choose to NOT give my son the vaccine that anyone whom does choose to give it to their child is wrong. But I’m open to seeing both sides unlike many on here.

IF there is a vaccine and IF it is mandated to allow kids to return to school, I am more inclined at this point to look into home school options. I would have to look at the data at that time.
That being said, I can not imagine them mandating a brand new vaccine for a virus they don't really understand to be injected in children in 4 months from now.

I truly hope to God that the powers that be in this country would NOT force us to inject our children with an unknown, unproven, mostly untested vaccine. I really hope that is NOT where this country is headed.
Totally agree, especially because it takes stages and years before a vaccine is ready for production and approved. So creating a vaccine in less than a years time,,,no way.

I was just thinking about this too. Cuomo made in mandatory for all public school students to get vaccinated in Sept 2019.... I can totally see him keeping schools closed or open part time until the vaccine comes out and then making it mandatory for all students to get it if they want to go back to full days
If that's the case and to answer your question... I would continue to home school. :(

It's state gov't that would make it mandatory, not federal.
