baby shower in the time of quarantine... then again, maybe not
my cousin's son is expecting his first baby (his wife's second). this will by my cousin's first grandbaby. everyone is very excited.
i'm wondering... what would be a nice gift i can have ready for a baby shower. not sure if they will even have a shower and/or if it will be in person, etc, etc, etc... all of our 2020 concerns.
i would like it to be a nice gift, but nothing overboard. i don't THINK i'll be making anything, but i might change my mind and make something small... a little hat or booties.
i'm toying with the $50-$100 range.
thanks for any ideas

I know it's impersonal but as a new mom I really appreciated any and all gifts cards and also diapers and wipes.
You can do that and then maybe something more personal like if you wanted to make a little hat or booties and/or buy a cute outfit.

I would ask if they are going to register anywhere. A lot of people are registering on Amazon now for showers, so easy! I think the extra knit hat or booties are always so sweet too.

I would make something homemade and get a registry item.
A lot of people have been doing drive through baby showers during the pandemic (like a parade with presents).

I had the big shower with DS and got everything under the sun except diapers. It sucked as a first time mom to have to get diapers/wipes ready with having absolutely no idea what the deal was  With DD my sister and SIL threw me a "sprinkle" and I told everyone diapers only. I only JUST bought my first box of diapers for DD last moth at 1 year old. It was the best thing ever!

Do they have a registry? If so I would check then. Otherwise, I agree with other posters that gift cards are a good idea. I know impersonal but this way they can get what they need.

This. My brother is expecting and their registry includes a gift card to dyper, a subscription service.
Usually I do registry for first time parents and a case of pampers swaddles size 2 and case of sensitive wipes and/or babyganics gift set for second parents. I don’t think you can wrong with any of these items. I buy the bigger diapers as you don’t know what others got them. My son was large and only in size 1 for like a month and then in size 2 for 6 months, so I feel like it won’t go to waste.
