moving next door ques and where to get boxes?
We are moving across the coop complex and i dont think it makes sense to hire movers, right? Maybe hire a man with a van kinda thing? We will be moving during the week so im not sure if we can recruit my brothers and im assuming we will be able to borrow a dolly from the building. Any bright ideas because i have none! Also, what do you do about boxes?

Re: moving next door ques and where to get boxes?
We did this 3 years ago, If I can give you one piece of advice it is to pack like you are moving across town!! I told myself oh it's no big deal I'll just move my closet here to that closet, etc. It was a disaster. My parents and siblings helped us move and I swear they were ready to kill us. At one point I think my brother asked if I wanted him to move one fork at a time because he was so annoyed. Get boxes! We just recently moved again (this time further), and got boxes from the supermarket and home depot. Good luck!

You can always purchase boxes from the places where you rent moving trucks. Ill agree with the prev poster, pack everything like you were moving across town.

hmm im going to look into that. the thought of recruiting family members is stressing me out, i'd rather just get a company to do it. and im going to send DH out for boxes. thanks everyone!

Re: moving next door ques and where to get boxes?
Last time I moved, I bought boxes at U-Haul - they had special boxes for dishes and glassware, and also odd sizes for electronics. I bought standard sized boxes at Home Depot because they were cheaper. Check BJs for bubble wrap - might be cheaper there than the other two places.
The moving company we used let us "rent" the garment boxes, the tall ones where you hang the clothes on hangers. Those were so worth it.
