questions for teachers who are interviewing

Are you bringing a portfolio with you? Are they even looking at it? I am torn, I did one in grad school. It is nothing spectacular...not sure if I should bother updating it...

If you do have one, what do you have in it???

I would bring mine and no one ever asked to look in it....but better to have it then not

I had pictures of lessons I did, student wok, sample lessons, certifications, letters of rec, resume, cover letter

definitely bring it! A few years ago, everyone asked for it!

Also, try to have a copy of all of your college transcripts in it. That and my test scores were the things that most people wanted to see.

I bring it. Mine was looked at and I got the job.l I have my resume, reference letters, test scores, philosophy of education, and some of my best work in there. HTH

You can always try and incorporate it into one of your answers. Try and talk about a lesson that you have picutres of. This way, atleast it was worth bringing it.
