yet another puppy question
ok, i know i have to take the puppy out about every 3 hours, and it is getting late and he really needs to be put in his cage. the problem is he is sleeping on the floor in the livingroom. do i wake him up, take him out and then put him in the cage? or do i wait until he wakes up and then take him out and then put him in the cage? i am at a loss here! thanks again!

Re: yet another puppy question
Wake him up and take him out...then put him in the crate. Hopefully, he'll go back to sleep.

Re: yet another puppy question
Thanks, we did take him out and put him in his crate. the problem is, each time we take him out he isn't peeing and then later on he is peeing in the house. maybe getting that spray that someone mentioned that tells them where to go would be a good idea. i know it is so early and he is getting used to our home, i just dont want us (or him) to get into any bad habits. he got up once during the night to pee and then stayed up. it was around 4:30 so my husband never put him back in the cage. I think we should put him back in the cage after he wakes up to pee right? i dont want him getting up at 4:30 for the rest of his life!

Re: yet another puppy question
Our puppy has been falling asleep around 9pm/9:30pm. We go to bed at 10pm. We wake the puppy up and keep her outside for 10-15 min for her to go to the bathroom. Then my husband cradles her for a few minutes and then places her in the crate and she falls asleep within 15 minutes after crying a bit.
