Need a cute literature-based project for first grade

Hi all,

My fifth grade class is doing book buddies with one of the first grade classes in my building. We'd like to do something cute with them this week, most likely involving a read aloud.

I know this is a very BROAD question, and I could probably find something on the web, but I'm hoping you could share some really cute projects that have worked for YOU. It's been awhile since I taught primary, and I'm not very creative to begin with!

Maybe you can incorporate a little math in the lesson. If you read "How Big Is A Foot" and have the older children help the younger trace their feet and cut them out. Then the older kids can do the same thing. After they can measure things in the classroom to compare lengths and tell what they would make with the bigger foot and the smaller foot.
