Salary offered....do you counter?
If you were offered a job, and wanted a few thousand more, would you ask?
Or happily accept?

It never hurts to ask. They already made you the offer so they are definitely serious. I'm in HR and I just offered someone a position this week...behind the scenes I knew I could go up a little and my candidate did ask for a few $ more....and I was able to give that. It does not look bad to ask and if there is no wiggle room they will tell you.

I was just going to ask the same question. My DH just got offered a job, but the base is about $15,000 lower then what we wanted it to be...... we would be moving from GA to MD for this job. Is that much more out of the question?

I would counter if I wanted and deserved more, and I have - twice. both times I got what I asked for.

The salary is literally only about 3-4K less than I hoped for. Now let's hope I get the offer!!!!!
