What is the President's salary?
And the Cabinet members, etc?
I was thinking about that last night when I watched Commander in Chief. I think I read somewhere a long time ago that the Prez's salary is around $200k?
I know some people here at my office who make double that! And their job sure as hell isn't as important as the President!

yeah- but I'm sure they don't have their home, all their meals, their clothes, their transportation, etc... paid for either.
Not to mention the millions of dollars in gifts they get!! The Saudi Prince has given them SO much jewelry- they could have fed all their citizens- but instead Laura nad her daughters have sapphire and diamond earrings.

Not sure about the cabinet members but the President was $250K. During Clinton's administration, he raised it to $400K, I think.
Probably still works out to about $3.25 an hour! It always disturbs me to hear a sports professional's salary and then think of the President's salary.

Don't forget Mayor Bloomberg was working for free.  Will his second term be "complimentary"? Most likely.

Actually it was GW Bush's administration who raised the salary from $200k to $400k.

Oh no, he gets the whopping salary of ... ONE DOLLAR. 
He wanted to do it for free but there's some old bylaw in NYC about the mayor being a paid position so he agreed to the sum of one dollar a year.

I see that it came into effect when he took office but I'm almost positive it occured during Clinton's administration, passed by Congress.
Whatever it is, it's not enough to be President IMO.

Yes, Congress and Clinton passed it in '99 (I worded my initial post wrong - sorry!) b/c other official's salaries were creeping up to the President's salary, but it didn't go into effect until 2001.
Guess no one in office can make more than the Pres, which makes sense.
