Ok so I have a meniscus tear...
and I swear with all the poking and messing around they did yesterday with my knee, made it a million times worse today.
I am at work but I def have to leave. I need to keep it straight in order to have any relief. So annoying.
It better be better in 3 1/2 weeks. That is when I go on my cruise

Re: Ok so I have a meniscus tear...
Oh no!! My husband tore his meniscus in October, he went to the dr. and said to try advil for 2-3 weeks for the pain. Well after three weeks it wasn't any better so he when to an othro dr. and they told him the only way to recover is surgery so the first week in Jan. he had arthoscopic surgery, he was walking that night, and only took four days off of work (but he does driving and lifting could have went back sooner) and did therapy for 4 weeks. Now finally he is pain free!!

Re: Ok so I have a meniscus tear...
Unfortunately, I think the only remedy for a torn meniscus once it becomes symptomatic is surgery. You may get some relief, but it will be temporary. Its cartilage, which doesn't have a blood supply to heal itself, and you risk further injuring your knee if its not repaired.
Was the tear confirmed with an xray or MRI?
