Hernia Q

I recently had surgery and the Dr had corrected a hernia that I had while he was in there...

My question is for those that have had one, once you have developed a hernia, is it common for it to come back or am I now more likely to get another one?

I know I got this one from lifting my heavy 2 year old, so I have to be really careful in the future, but I am nervous about it happening again.

i had an umbilical hernia in 01. THey went in and repaired it with mesh. I haven't had any problems lifting any kids and no other organs have popped out of my stomach wall since
