Anyone have any tips for me? Good hotels? We are hoping to go mid September and will be flying into Baltimore Airport.

We stayed at L'Enfant Plaza the last time we went. link It was centrally located, and very close to the museums, white house, etc.
I lived in D.C. for a while, and it depends on what you enjoy. DH and I went to the National Zoo, the Air and Space Museum, the White House, etc. We also went to the Baltimore aquarium on our way.

Re: Washington DC
I work in DC Like PP says, it really depends on what you are looking for..
Drinks, Family, budget, splurge, etc.
Taxis from BWI airport are expensive into the city. There are a few public transportation options I can tell you more about if you are interested.
