Walking question
How hard was it when the babies started to walk? My mom is so nervous about them walking. She is having nightmares about it!
The way I look at it is that we live in an apt. so they only have so much ground they can cover!

Re: Walking question
Honestly I thought it was easier now that they are walking. It is crazy because they are into everything. My boys started walking 2 weeks after their 1st Birthday.

Re: Walking question
I found it easier. It was not as hard to get around with the 2 of them by myself.
One started at 14 months and other at 15 months so we had only one for a month which was good to get used to it.

Re: Walking question
My boys didn't walk until about 15 months and they haven't stopped since. In some respects it's easier to get them out b/c they can walk to and from places w/o a stroller but the downside is that they are anxious to be out and about constantly. The stroller has become their enemy

Re: Walking question
I think life has become SO much easier since they have been walking. Especially going to parties and places where you would have to hold them, or couldn't put them down on the ground. They definitely explore a lot, so there is no downtime - except for at home...but everything is safe where they can get into. They now walk out to the car when we go out, or just running around the backyard - I think its more enjoyable, and more fun than when they were just sitting there or crawling.

Re: Walking question
I love that they walk now. My arms use to be exhausted with them always having to be carried around. Everyone said i would hate when they start walking and while downtime is nil these days I would not trade if for the old days.
I can get them both out of the house together and walk to the car. I can make them walk into their bedroom....I just enjoy it so much...so don't fear about it.

Re: Walking question
In my opinion it got a lot easier when they started to walk.
My mom agrees too. She also watches my girls while I am at work. You did not have to pick them up. You could put them down outside. They could walk and get what they needed.
It was when they started to climb on chairs when it got difficult for her. My mom is young but had a heart attack last November so I tried to make her life as easy as possible. I gated a small area for her in the beginning. We took them away as they got older.
The climbing is what makes us crazy. THey pull each other up on tables & as you can see
<------------ they climb on my bay window too
