wisdom teeth ?
I had my bottom 2 out today and the dr. said mine were not easy...lucky me! Well the surgery ended around 4 and I'm still bleeding but the gauze is making me nauseous, well that and the tylenol with codeine. How long do I have to keep this stupid gauze in?

Re: wisdom teeth ?
I had mine done in the morning and I want to say I left the gauze in for 4 or 5 hours. If the bleeding is not stopping by that time (and it may still ooze a little, but should not be filling the gauze quickly), try chomping lightly down on a wet teabag. That's what they told DH to do when his did not stop bleeding.
You will still probably bleed a bit throughout the night. Expect a little on your pillowcase. The tylenol w/ codeine upset my stomach, so by day 2 i started taking Advil--twice the regular dose. I could handle the pain with the Advil and it was worth not having an upset stomach.
Good luck! Lay low this weekend, but by Monday or Tuesday you should be feeling better. Also remember to ice--I think it's 15 mins on/15 mins off? I didn't once, and I totally swelled up. When getting the others pulled I did ice and didn't swell at all.

Re: wisdom teeth ?
thanks for the advice, it was really helpful. It's funny I had my top 2 out a few months ago and the dentist insisted on icing them like you said and the guy I used today said the icing is really for my own comfort and not for the swelling. He gave me pills to help with the swelling instead. I hope it works! Thanks again
