muscle relaxer?

I pulled a muscle in my lower back this weekend and now i'm all hunched over and can't stand up straight.
Someone suggested taking a muscle relaxer to help since i can't get to the dr. for a few more days.

since i know nothing about them.. can you get them over the counter? do i have to have a prescription?
any recommendations?

thanks!

Re: muscle relaxer?

if you get a prescription, i had a good experience with skelaxin.

i have had a few back injuries, and that's the only one that doesn't make me feel "high."

good luck, back pain is the worst. i'd see my dr. if i was you.

Muscle relaxers are prescription only. Aleve is a good anti-inflamatory and may help ... I'd suggest a heating pad (or warm shower) and very gentel stretching/movement. The worst thing you can do is sitt all day.
Hope you're better soon!

Argh.. sitting is the only time it doesn't hurt, and of course i'm sitting most of the day!
