Words read per minute question

Does anyone know how many words 2nd and 3rd graders are supposed to read per minute?

I can't remember if it was D.I.B.E.L.S. or E-clas that did that kind of testing.

I'm trying to figure out some reading assessments and I have ZERO resources in my school.

One of the DIBELS subtest is Oral Reading Fluency. If I remember correctly, the benchmark is 90 WPM by the end of 2nd grade and 110 by the end of 3rd.

just completed my middle of the year benchmark for dibels and it is 92 for 3rd graders

wow...that must be a city thing. i've never counted words per minute. i would think fluency and comprehension would be more important measures of reading

Thanks ladies. Being that I have no resources I'm trying to gather what I can to really figure out how to assess.

I just leveled my library today and hopefully from there i can start to get better assessments.

Reading comprehension is low from my students i've been wroking on buildng that but without properly leveled books its been

I've got to figure out some sort of system on my own, sigh
