I'm worried......
that I won't make it through the next 10 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!
I got SOOOOOOOOO used to just relaxing at home and catering to DH .. cooking, etc. and I loved EVERY SECOND OF IT!
The idea of having to go back to school makes me seriously I just don't know how I'm going to make it through the next 10 weeks. I really don't. I would love to just not go back- and yes, even in this economy! I just am so ready to throw in the towel! So many BS requirements in the city, I can't take it. Plus, my kids don't want to be there and it's making me so unmotivated. Honestly, who could blame them?
And, after this long break they are going to be SO out of the routine! (as will I) ....... Ugh I need so many that the next 10 weeks will go smoothly!

I TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!! Ughhhhh I don't want to face the next two months BUT look at it this way..... we get back into our routine, get through these next few weeks, and THEN.... the sweet bliss of summer vacation I don't want to ever go back to work either But don't worry........ it's so tough after EVERY vacation...... but we'll somehow survive & get through........ and if you need a few mental health days, take them!!!!!

Re: I'm worried......
I'm happy to have a job - especially in this climate. The last thing I would do is complain... it looks shabby

Re: I'm worried......
I am anxious about the next ten weeks too. It really seems to get harder and harder every year- I have been a teacher for more than ten years. And this year I have many challenging kids. I find that I have to spend so much time teaching them basic social skills and manners just so I can get something academic done.
I don't think there is anything wrong with complaining. Of course everyone who has a job is grateful, but I also believe that it's important not to let things get pent up. One of the best things about a forum like this is the way we can get and give support.

I don't agree. You aren't in her shoes and don't know her situation. Just because a person has a job in this climate doesn't mean they don't have the right to complain.
Everyday my classes suck the life out of me. They are difficult and the worst I've had in my 7 years of teaching in the city. The only reason I have survived this year is because I need my paycheck.
I am suprised you would be so cold considering as a teacher you should know we all have bad years.

Thank you. As we're all teachers (or at least people who work in schools) on this board, I always appreciate that I can come here and vent.
I am a first year teacher and it has been SO hard for me. I have not mastered time management yet and come home with endless amounts of work. I teach special ed and my kids are still held to the same standards as the gifted kids. Teaching can get so frustrating.
Thanks to those ladies who understand! Of course I am grateful to have a job, but that doesn't mean I'm not entitled to complain about things. Someone can be grateful to be in good health but still be entitled to complain about a REALLY nasty paper cut! Know what I mean?

I absolutely agree. This has also been my hardest year. I feel sick every morning I have to go in to work and I am so tired of the kids and the BS. Everyone has a right to vent. Just because the economy is bad doesn't mean you can't be stressed or unhappy in your job and it definitely doesn't mean you can't express your feelings about it.

Re: I'm worried......
PLUS...let's not forget the new buzzwords...data...student outcome. Having to re-learn how to teach according to the new standards is exhausting. Especially working at an F. It's not the kids I find exhausting...it's the adults.

Thanks for reminding me that the next stop IS the summer! (the 3 days for memorial day weekend doesn't count, in my book) lol
And thanks everyone else for being so supportive! I just honestly can't wait to go to school Monday and get that first day over with!
