If you were a per diem sub...

How much did you work in Sept. and Oct. ? Did it pick up in certain months then slow down? I'm really stressed out trying to make a decision for next school year Chat Icon

Thank you!

Re: If you were a per diem sub...

I worked as a per diem sub for about a year in one district, and I had some weeks where I had work almost everyday. But there were also periods, sometimes up to a few weeks, when I would not get called to work at all. If you want to work often, try to get on the sub list for more than one district, and choose larger districts that may have more of a need for subs. Also, if it's possible to find out which districts employ permanent building subs, that information might be helpful. I think that part of the reason why I was called to work so infrequently was because the district I worked for did have permanent subs in each building, so unless there were multiple teachers out, they did not have much need for per diem subs.
Good luck!
