So frustrated (a little long)

Ever since TTC I have been spotting several days before my period. I went to the dr, they said I wasn't trying long enough and not to get frustrated, but they did do a cd21 progesterone test. Came back at 14.4 which the dr said was normal, but that's the cycle I had my chemical so I was actually pregnant when that was done, so I'm thinking that could affect whether or not that number is good or bad.

Then I had the chemical and the dr pretty much told me that I really was never pregnant and they were going to count it as a late period. Next cycle I again spotted several days before my period. I have an appointment for next week, but I feel like I am spinning my wheels here and tehy are going to tell me to keep trying.

Am I overreacting or is it time to find a new doctor? I'm worried that the spotting could be a progesterone problem and there is nothing I can do about it until my doctor buys into the fact that something is wrong. Chat Icon

Thanks for reading.

Re: So frustrated (a little long)

I had back to back "chemicals" and did not want to wait for a 3rd. My obgyn suggested I see a RE and I did and I am so happy that I did. Dr Braverman is wonderful and specializes in recurrent losses. Now I should probably mention I am 34 and had my DS almost 3 yrs ago so maybe these factors contributed to the referal, but imo you should go get a 2nd opinion or meet with an RE if that is what you want to do. In my experience obgyn (at least mine- who is no longer my obgyn) seem to be numb to miscarriages, especially early losses. I'm sorry for your losses, do what makes you most comfortable. Good luck.

Eta: I should also mention after having DS I too began spotting for 2 days prior to full flow. I have a few issues going on but if I remember correctly that is related to the hypothyroidism that Dr B diagnosed.

Time to find a new doctor... I'm kind of getting to the same point with mine (I've had two chemicals this year) Chat Icon
