if you had lasik eye surgery...
did you find that your eyes regressed after some time?
if so, do you think this is normal or do you think it has to do with the quality of work your eye surgeon did?
and last, please recommend your doctor if you were happy.

I had the PRK surgery about 5 years ago and my eyes have definitely regressed. I was told by someone else, not my dr when I went through all this, that this would happen and you can go for a follow up surgery.
I was just added to DH's insurance so now i can go get my eyes checked out and possibly another set of glasses.

I had Lasik w/custom vue mapping at TLC by Dr Donnenfeld (sp?) in October 2004 and have not had any issues.

My mom had it done and was fine until she developed cataracts. She had the cataract surgery and then needed to have an enhancement for the lasik. Now she is great again.
My SIL had it done and needs an enhancement but is going for glasses again instead.
My uncle had it done and is fine.
All three had it done within one year of each other at Stahl Eye Center. I started working there after my mom had the surgery done there.

My husband had Lasik and after 10 years he needed an "enhancement". It's totally normal because your eyes will keep changing with age.
He also uses Dr. Donnefeld -- one of the best doctors on the east coast. When my husband went in for his enhancement back in the spring, Hugh Jackman was in his office with his wife -- Dr. Donnefeld was doing surgery on her.

I haven't had Lasik but I had 2 different consultations and both doctors told me Lasik is not permanent and my vision could change in the future.

I had Lasik in the spring of 2002
At the time I was told this does nothing for people needing reading glasses - that is a function of age and focusing muscles hardening.
For distance I was told eye strain and time could take away by 20/15 vision, options were having a touch-up procedure done or living with it.
Think it makes sense for eye sight to diminish after all we put our eyes through
