If You Don't Mind Me Asking...
Can you share with me where your DC attends Pre-K?
We had our district meeting this AM.
The school he is in now is great, but, they also said, go tour other schools (the district said this) and keep options open.
They mentiioned:
Building Blocks (ummm lets say I Love Love Love this school already)
DDI
and ACLD
Am I missing any other schools in the Western Suffolk Area?

What district are you in? Do they NOT like Building Blocks?
I know when Christopher was in EI, they pushed for DDI for him, but we LOVE Building Blocks.

Im in the Northport District! The like all the schools. They wanted us to know that there are options (and waiting lists LOL)...I really feel we are going to stay where we are now, but, wanted to tour the other school, just to "see" and I guess so I can say "Yeah I toured, but, we are staying with his current school"..

DDI is an EXCELLENT school but they are very IN THE BOX...
my DS goes to ACDS in plainview... i am not sure what is in the W Suffolk area.
but i have heard nothing but raves about DDI

My daughter is in ACLD and that place is a miracle!
I feel bad because I have posted here a few times but have never really introduced myself...
My 4 1/2 daughter, Aurelia is PDD-NOS. She was formally diagnosed by the Cody Center and our district placed her in ACLD. She was not able to form sentences, has low-muscle tone throughout, needed OT-the works. Within 4 weeks of starting at ACLD Kramer-she was speaking in sentences.
Don't be fooled by the area...it's amazing there.

ETA: What about Just Kids in Lindenhurst? I have a friend who has her daughter there and loves it.

Ariel received all of her services through THE CHILDREN'S CENTER of UCP....
It's behind the Spare Rib in Commack...
I did what you are doing. Since she had already received her EI services through The Children's Center I just kind of thought it was a natural progression that she would stay there..
I toured a ton of schools....DDI, Building Blocks, Just Kids, ACDS etc....
I stayed with The Children Center....
I dont know if I ever would have moved her at that stage of the game. But it was nice knowing that I had looked and knew, not just felt, she was in the best place...KWIM?

DDI in Ronkonkoma.
LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Ryan has grown leaps and bounds at this school. I have had nothing but great experiences with every staff member.
I really don't think you can go wrong with any of the choices you listed though.
Just Kids is another great one.
