Three strikes today
What a day and it is not even over.
I sent out emails to follow up on a couple of positions I had been pitching.
Response #1- The company has decided to go with a more entry level role
Response #2- Although I was liked by HR and the department manager, they are going with someone who has more strength in a certain function of the position.
And to top it off I get a call from one of the recruiters I am working with who sounds all excited that she might have a position. Well that one did not work out it either.
I swear I have NO LUCK.
Very frustrating I tell you.

I am in advertising- Media Buying.
It is a very TOUGH field now. They are trying to make things work with minimal staffing and when they do staff up, they tend to only want junior level/entry level positions even though there is a need for a more experienced person.
I am even looking in other areas, admin, clerical etc because I am tired of practically groveling for jobs lol.

yeah definately a tough time in industry..have you ever heard of mandy.com? they have lots of job postings in that industry, from clerical and beyond...and at least then it would be a field you come from, you know? good luck & i'll keep my eyes out!

I'm on the interactive side of advertising, so I know it's tough. A recruiter I've been working with said that the holidays really slow things down as the companies are finalizing the budgets. I'm hoping that things will get better in the new year.

I'm in HR and have sent out 20 resumes, out of which I only received one phone interview which lead nowhere! I totally understand how you feel
