What to expect at the D & C follow up appt?

Hello everyone. Can someone please tell me what to except at this appointment? I have been to the dr too many times recently so I am scared and dreading to back. He said they were not running tests since it was my first MC. Thanks!

I totally know how you felt..I haven't been back to the OB since my m/c (about 6 months ago) and I'm terrified to go this week...

Anyway...it's not bad. For me they did an exam and did a sono to make sure everything was gone...

Most of the time it's good news and you are good to go!

Another sono? I was afraid of that. That is so frustrating! I cant deal with any more sonos. The doctor already said I could TTC after first AF (he said that before the procedure). Hopefully he will not change his mind.

Well that's what happened to me...I am not sure if thats what happens w/ a D&C but I beleive they need to make sure it's all gone...

My doc said I could try after I got my first natural AF too...so I'm sure he won't change his mind

I dread the OB as well. I had a a D&C and at my follow up appointment I did not have a sono. I probably would have had a panic attack if I had to get another one. At my follow up the Dr. discussed what took place, told me all went well, asked how I was feeling and discussed the future of trying to get preggo. It really wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.

i dont think i had a sono.
just a check up type of appt.

i didnt know you got sono's at this appt. my doctor seems to never do or say things that most other doctors do. well he is my ex doctor actually.

I didnt have a d&c, miscarried naturally but at my follow up the dr did do a sono to make sure my uterus was clear of anything and she tested my hcg to make sure it was back at 0

I was the first appt b/c I knew it would be hard to go back and see all the pg ppl.

I had a lengthy convo with my doctor (b/c I came in with 2 pages of questions). He gave me a quick exam. No sono. Said to come back when I'm pg.

I have my post op appt on the 24th. I hope I stop bleeding by then. I woulld hate for them to do an internal on me

Thanks everyone. I hope I dont have to give blood again, I have had my blood taken 4 times in the past few week and had the IV during DNC that my arms are both black and blue.

I had DNC a week and a half ago and I really only bled on the next day very very slightly. Now I have not even a drop. SHould I be concerned since I have read other posts about heavy bleeding? Sorry, Im just paranoid now!! Thanks,

Not to worry. I also was scarred. My doctor just gave me a how your hole aka exam. told me when i could start trying again. I wish everyone luck i know its very hard to deal with.
