Did anyone here ever extend their certification?

I currently have 4 certifications...
Birth-2 general ed
Birth-2 special ed
1-6 genereal ed
birth-2 special ed

Has anyone ever heard of extending these certifications to include 5-9? I think it's called middle school education certification? I cannot find it anywhere and am getting excessed-there is a 9th grade position in my district, so if there are just a couple of courses i could take, I might be able to get in that position for September. Thanks in advance for your help!

i dont think there is a 5-9 extension, i believe its a 5-6 extension. to teach 9th grade you would need a 7-12 certification and that would require the cst exam

I have actually been looking into extensions as well. And like pp said, I think it is only 5-6 or 8 extension certification. I know there is 7-12 certification.

But can I ask you a question? Did you get an extension for 1-6 edu.? I right now have
birth-2 regular ed
and
birth-2 special ed.

I am looking into doing 1-6 but cannot seem to find if there is an extension or if I just have to go back take the classes, do student teaching all over again and then apply for certification for that.
