tenure

Hi! I taught in NYC Special ed for a year, now I am teaching under my general ed license for a year. Would I be eligible for tenure next year? Or does it need to be 3 years in general or special ed? TIA!

It has to be 3 years in the same license area. Hope that helps.

if you are still in NYC it should only be 2 years (not 3) under new license to gain your tenure.

ETA: I had a friend who had her tenure onder GE license and then switched to SE. She only needed 2 yrs under SE license to get tenure
