Frequent bruising

I tend to bruise (especially on my legs) very easily, and the bruises stick around for several days. Is there anything I can do to help the bruises heal faster? I usually am not even aware I am going to get a bruise - usually I just hit into some furniture or something and it doesn't even occur to me that I would have done something to cause a bruise until I see it hours later.

Re: Frequent bruising

Many prescription medications can cause bruising as well as over the counter meds like aspirin or ibuprofen.

I don't believe there is much you can do once you already have the bruise other then wait for it to go away :)

Arnica!

Go to health food store and get arnica gel AND arnical tablets. As soon as you bump yourself (preferably before you see the bruise) or as soon as you notice a bruise forming, rub some arnica gel onto the area and put a few tabs under your tongue. (They taste like sugar.)

Use the arnica gel a couple times a day and the bruising will be much less severe and go away much faster.

I'm SUPER fair-skinned and bruise so easily, too. I'm always getting bruises at the barn or while gardening or while generally being a clutz. Arnica is absolutely wonderful. Chat Icon

Re: Frequent bruising

Thank you all! These are some good new ideas. I already take B12 supplements, and haven't started any new medications (ether prescription or OTC) in the past year, so I am going to try a few of the other things the next time I get a bruise!
