What do you twin Mommies do about daycare?

We are going to start looking at daycares next Tuesday. But i am so scared of what it is going to cost. Do they usually give a discount for multiples? I am sure if they do it's not that big of a discount, right? I just want to know what i am in for. TIA!

Usually, 10% discount for the second child.

When I was looking three years ago, the bigger chains wanted $1300-1400 per child for the infant room. That's 8-4, no extended hours.

The cheapest center in my area was a little under 2K with the discount. Again, that's about 2 1/2 years ago.

Most twin mommies I know who work FT (a doc and two lawyers) have a nanny for the first 2 years.

I have the twins and a 4 year old. Thank goodness, my MIL watches them 3 days a week and then I have 2 babysitters - one for Thursday and one for Friday.

I had the boys the same time and pretty much faced the same thing. Just not worth the expense to go the daycare route with two. I had my MIL watch them, and a babysitter come to my house for two days.

Same thing goes for Nursery School when they get older. I literally can't afford to put my kids in a nursery school so they go to a part time one 6 hours a week. ONly thing we could swing with two. They give us a 10% discount for the second one.

I have 3 in daycare. It still costs less than if I quit my job.

Thanks everyone. We have noone in the family. To watch them so we are going to look at abunch of daycares Tuesday. We are going to ask my SIL to quit her part time job to watch them if we can't swing daycare. Hopefully she'll want to make more money and quit.
