How do i nicely tell my ds speech therpist I am not using her anymore?

my son was getting one session of speech a week sicne last September with the same person. She used to go to my moms on Fridays bc she only works during the day and weekends In March my ds got approved for an additional speech session with a Prompt therapist. The Prompt therapist now goes to my moms on Fridays and the original one comes to my house on the weekends. This started in April and went through June when i stopped working for the summer and she has been coming on Tuesdays now. Well now i am going back to work and she wants to go back to weekends. Its really hard and I honestly would rather him just get the Prompt therapist twice a week. How do i tell her nicely that I am not using her anymore? Do i do it in person at his session this week or call her and make it seem like i was really thinking about it and its just not going to work?

The only thing I can come up with is just nicely tell her that there is a schedule conflict and you and your family want "family time" on the weekends.
My DCs schedules are crazy with EI.
I never ever had any on the weekend.
That is our time.
I'm sure she'll be understanding.Chat Icon

I would just tell her that you want the Prompt therapist to come 2 times a week and I'm sure she'll understand. If you are not friendly with her you can just have the agency tell her and you wouldn't have to deal with it if you didn't want to : ).

You can choose to just tell your service coordinator, who will tell the agency, who will tell the therapist if you are really uncomfortable with it.

We ended with a therapist recently because the time just wasn't working out. If you like her and want to explain, then I would just say the weekend schedule just won't work for you anymore and the prompt therapist is available during the week.

Yes its much easier that way, and I'm sure she will not be offended, there's plenty of kids out there for her to work with, happens all the time.
