Re: Can I ask stupid question

I think the "norm" is to leave them home...but my boyfriend is bringing his son this year because he has no sitter. The teacher said it was fine and that usually 1 or 2 kids wind up coming for the same reason. HTH

The kids go to Familly Fun Nights.. but Parent Information Night is for parents only. There are parents who bring their kids too - and I'll be honest that unless the kids are really well behaved, I find it distracting.

There are always 1 or 2 kids there but normally they stay home. I've never brought my kids.

As the pp said, the info is for the parents. Also, you are often asked to write notes for your kids for the next morning as a surprise to them.

Re: Can I ask stupid question

In the district I work in, children are NOT welcome. Parents with no sitters are asked not to attend. The teacher either schedules a seperate meeting at that parent's convenience or hits the highlights over the phone.

Re: Can I ask stupid question

They always put on the flyer to leave the children at home. However, sooooooo many people bring their kids, it's ridiculous. People let their kids wander around the halls and the school grounds while they are getting the low-down from the teacher.

This is an ongoing problemat the school... they always announce it, the majority of parents ignore it, and for whatever reason they can't seem to do anything about it. Big pet peeve of mine.
