Tips on moving into a new house with a dog?
I am nervous about my dog not reacting good moving into our new home.
Any suggestions?

on moving day, have him stay with someone. Its a stressful day already, theres no need to get him stressed out too.

ITA! My dog stayed at my parents and then when we were mostly settled we brought him with his bed and food. Of course he's old and sleeps a lot so as long as he has his bed and food close by he's happy

I remember reading something about not giving the dog free reign of the house. Give the dog some rooms you let him explore, but not all. I think is because it can be overwhelming and also because you can then set the rules for rooms to enter/ not enter.

I agree with the PPs about bringing the dog somewhere else for the day. We left our dogs with my husband's grandma, and then brought them here when things calmed down. Being their first time in the house, they had to run around and check everything out, but they made themselves at home right away. I put their beds and toys out immediately so that they had something familiar to them.
