Congratulations! OMG! I remember the first two months...it was like having a newborn...we did not get much sleep....I was grumpy and tired all the time Chat Icon but we love our brat so it was worth it Chat Icon I won't say she is the most behaved Chat Icon but she is close to it! Chat Icon Chat Icon We are on our way there Chat Icon Chat Icon She is 10 months now and 48 lbs sChat Icon Chat Icon She is the sweetest dog...loves people and especially kids Chat Icon

Hubby and I decided to hire a trainer for good measure. The investment will be worth in in the future!

Which breed did you get?

We knew our Scarlette was going to be a good size dog so I when she was a puppy we made sure we pulled her ears, legs, tail and removed her food from her mouth when she was eating so as she got older she would be used to it and not growl or bite. I read that somewhere and it actually worked. I can take a piece of meat out of her mouth (all of us in the family actually) and she won't do anything. We made sure because we want her to be gentle and we are TTC and that is something babies tend to do ---remove food from dogs plate...

Hope you have a lifetime of fun with your new puppyChat Icon Chat Icon

Thanks! We aren't sure what she is exactly - they think black lab/border collie/terrier mix. She's only 5.6 pounds right now. Vet said she should be about 40 pounds.

Good luck with your girl! She's so cute :)

AWWWWW...she is so cute! Enjoy her! By the way...not for nothing...but my vet told us the same thing about the weight, so don't be scared if she happens to pass that weight. To be honest, they can't really tell how big they well get especially with mixed breeds.

my sister and brother n law trained the dog very well. she behaves very well. She is between 30 and 40 pounds now. she hung out with my dog and my parents dogs which are less than 15 pounds and lap dogs, so sometimes she will jump on your lap.

LOL! Mine is on her way to perfect behavior...Chat Icon We have been training her with tips from a trainer nearby.
Scarlette likes to cuddle, so if you sit she will come over sit next to you and starts leaning. She likes to put her head on your lap. When she sleeps with us, she likes to put her paw over and spoon....Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
