Weird pimples on my two dogs

First one of them had a pimple. The vet took a look and said once it comes to a head, it can be popped. Nothing alarming, it's just a pimple. My groomer, whom I've been going to for years and trust with my dogs said he popped it for me and it went away. It has not come back since.

I just noticed one on my other dog near her neck, the back of her neck. What is going on here? I bathe them often, so it's not like they are dirty.

Could be a staff infection. I recently took my 2 dogs to a groomer I have never used. My male dog got a boil next day and a few small pimples, then my female started getting them. I immediately took them to the vet. I knew it was something very weird since my dogs NEVER get any kind of pimply things. And being that I just used a new groomer, I know they got them from the groomer's. Probably dirty clippers. In all my years of my dogs being groomed at my old place, my dogs have never ever ever ever had a pimple looking thing every anywhere on their bodies. So I know it was that groomers. Obviously I will never go there again.

My vet was very concerned, and both dogs had to be treated with 2 weeks of oral antibiotics and topical as well. The boil and pimples finally went away, no popping needed. Just dried up with the meds.

I would suggest you NOT pop them and take them to the vet asap. The popping of them could spread them if it's a serious infection.

it could just be the change in the weather, their coats changing, etc. since their coats get more full this time of year there's probably an increased amount of oil on their skin so that could cause it

my dog gets them too....he is shih tzu and i was told by the vet it is normal it is a build up of oil and to use an oatmeal shampoo. i pop them for him. I'm weird like that, i just don't like the way they feel when i pet him.
