I just want to scream!
My internet has been down at home so I haven't checked my email. Today at work I checked my optonline account and there was an email from Spence Chapin saying that they have not yet sent everything over to Korea (as NB had promised had happened weeks ago) because the marriage certificate that I provided to them is insufficient. I want to cry. I lost my original marriage certificate and asked town hall to provide me with a certified copy. I paid for this. It was sent to NB in October. Spence Chapin said they can't send anything to Korea until the proper copy is furnished.  I just knew this was going to happen. Meanwhile, when DH called NB last week to make sure everything went over to Korea, he was told that it definitely had and to stop calling because it wasn't going to make the process go any quicker. I know I'm overreacting but I'm doing everything in my power to not cry right now. I had the whole timeline based on everything going to Korea over two weeks ago.  Thanks for letting me vent.

I am so sorry It really sounds like the two agencies are not working together at all. Why didn't anyone call you to discuss this? What else can you provide but a certified copy?
I am confused..my agency also does my homestudy. Is that not possible for you? It seems to make things much easier to have one contact to deal with. And to be told to stop calling so often
  That is VERY rude IMO. I would call back and say "Turns out we NEED To call often to make sure our stuff is done".
I would be spitting nails.

With my agency, I had two options. One was to go with Eastern in Korea and if I chose that option, all of my paperwork would be sent directly from my agency to Korea. The other option was to use SWS in Korea. This route was more appealing to me because the timeframe was MUCH quicker because Eastern had been experiencing a slowdown. The only gliche with using SWS is that they have to send all of my paperwork to Spence Chapin who in turn sends it to SWS because Spence has an agreement with SWS. I contacted Spence directly to find out if my homestudy had gone over to Korea and was slapped on the hand because I am supposed to go through my agency first. Then my agency said I just had to trust that Spence would send my homestudy over within the next couple of days. That was over two weeks ago. So now I'm at a loss as to what I should do and I cannot call SC directly and my agency doesn't seem to have any of the answers. If they were aware of the certificate not being ok, I'm sure they would have told me back in October when I sent it to them.

That is just awful! OMG!!! Im so sorry!! I would be so angrey over this, so you are justified to be upset...so much so!!
So now what? how do you get what they need?

a bit bizzare. Does NB now know that there is an issue w/ the marriage certificate? Didn't you go to town hall for another? Maybe SC is just overly nitpicky?? when you find out an outcome?
E T S: Iwould be so upset, po'd and frustrated!

I miraculously found my original marriage certificate and faxed it to Spence Chapin this morning. SWS is much stricter than Eastern, so NB probably didn't know this would be an issue. I'm just hoping that this faxed original will justify. If it does, my paperwork could possibly be sent to Korea today!

Oh, Sue, I'm so sorry, I can't imagine how frustrated you are! Just remember, you keep saying there's a reason for EVERYTHING. For some reason, a reason you'll never know probably, you're baby needs another 2 weeks or so in Korea. But, SOON, I promise, SOON you'll have your baby in your arms! Now start lifting weights in the meantime!

I don't get why you can't speak to SC at all? You can tell the coordiator there that you are getting the run-a-round from your agency.

Just got a message from SC. The marriage certificate I faxed to them this morning is sufficient so they are moving forward with getting the paperwork to Korea today.

Yahooooooo! Just hung up with Spence Chapin. The woman I spoke with said everything is in a big envelope and sealed and ready to go. She said Korea will have everything by next week! She said once Korea has the packet, it takes on average 4-6 weeks for a referral, sometimes sooner!

I know ~ and I'm going to be in Florida visiting my parents so I was sure to give them both of our cell numbers and my parents number just incase! I can only be that lucky!
