Re: What do I want for my Nook
A light. The Mighty Bright or Lyra clip onto the Nook. I really like the M-edge e-lluminator but it doesn't clip on, it slides between the back of the nook and the case.
Screen protector. I have the Javoedge anti-glare that I like a lot.
Case. I have a Javoedge flip style that I like when I'm reading while eating lunch or whatever. I have a custom made book style one from a lady on etsy that I really like, and an Aquapac that's good for reading at a pool, beach or in the bath.
Free Library of Philadelphia card $15 per year for out of state residents and they have a huge e-book library.
I got a green rear cover
Maybe a skin? I had one on but took it off because it was covered up by the case most of the time anyway.

Re: What do I want for my Nook
IMO Case and light are musts.
I prefer JavoEdge case because they are very secure with frame enclosure instead of just corner straps or snap-in.(www.javoedge.com, they sell thru Amazon). Use code nooknack for 15% off. I think B&N if having a case sale now, 30% off but I don't like them.
For a light I got a simple small clip on light for 10 dollars that uses AA batterys (not the nook branded light that takes CR batteries).

Re: What do I want for my Nook
thanks girls!!
So only one question.
Do you need a cover? I almost feel like I would like a skin but then I worry about the screen not getting real protection if it's in a bag and such.

Re: What do I want for my Nook
I prefer the cover. Sure - the skin is prettier, but I don't feel a skin plus screen protector is enough protection. To me a skin and screen protector is just to guard against scratches and is basically just cosmetic enhancement.
The other day it slipped out of my arm and hit the ground on it's side - and there was no damage at all because the case took the hit not the nook.
I dont even have a screen protector - because all the time I'm not reading I have the cover flipped on the screen so it's protected. And when I'm reading, I'm not touching it so there is really no reason for it to be protected. Then again, if I had kids that might be touching and feeling I probably would do both a screen protector and case.
BTW, another thing you might want to get - if DH didnt get you a warranty, look into Squaretrade. They offer cheap warranties (there are also coupons for that.) I think when I bought I got a 3 year warranty for maybe 22 dollars?

Re: What do I want for my Nook
I love my cover. I feel my nook is more protected that way. I have a black leather one.
I bought it when I got the nook. I felt I wanted to protect it right away.
