Any caloric intake amount should be based upon your height and weight...not based on what works for someone else. The nutritionist I use wrote a book that I love and it has caloric guidelines for men and women broken down by height etc. It tells you how many grams of protein, fat and carbs you should be eating in a day. I fyou want me to check your guidelines feel free to FM me your height, and age and weight etc.

i have been following myfitnesspal.com. It is free and you can track your food and exercise. Based on calories, not points. It will customize how many calories you should take in per day based on how much you want to lose per week and what you weigh.

Re: Need good diet recommendation - not WW.
I suggest not dieting. I suggest changing your lifestyle.
Make healthy choices. Change habits one at a time. Start slowly and build from there. When you change your habits you have a bigger chance at keeping it off.
Sit down and think about the small changes you can make and how you can make them. Write them down and as you work on them, cross them off.

This is what I ended up doing. I'm not the type to stick to a hard and fast diet and I just dont have time to excersize right now with my job and son.
I realized a lot of my problem lies with my eating habits. I've stopped using creamer in my coffee and switched from whole milk to skim, I eat healthier snacks, don't allow myself to eat past 8pm, smaller portions, use egg whites instead of the whole egg, have low-sugar oatmeal and a banana for breakfast instead of an egg & cheese on a bagel, drink only diet sodas or water and coffee, etc. Overall just making healthier choices. I dropped 4 lbs the first week I did this and it wasnt even that hard! I didnt have cravings or feel like I was starving myself. I've very happy with these changes.
Thanks for the advice!

I'm glad everything working well and these seemingly mall changes are working for you! Just remember, they may seem small, but have a huge effect!!
Congrats on the 4 lbs!!!
