Aflac
Does anyone here have Aflac insurance? My company recently decided to offer it and my DH and I are considering adding the Hospital Plan to prepare for the future.

Re: Aflac
We have the sickness plan. It pays some of the copay for a few doctor visits each year. It will also pay for hospitalizations, including if you have a baby. There a few other plans as well - I know Cancer and maternity (wish we could have gotten maternity!).

Thank you so much! I'm considering the Hospitalization one for when we have kids. It pays out a certain amount for each day you are in the hospital up to 5 days. I wonder if we are being offered the maternity leave. thanks again!

Re: Aflac
I had it for maternity leave and it was TOTALLY worth it! It's basically having insurance and knowing you are going to use it.
You have to be on the plan for 10 months before you can claim anything maternity related. I took out a short-term disability poilcy. Basically, I figured how much $ I would need to bring in per week to make enough to cover my bills.
If I can remember correctly, I paid like $7 a week for say 50 weeks ($350). But the policy I took out paid me like $100 or more a week for the 8 weeks I was out on maternity leave ($800). Definitely a winning situation for me!!

Re: Aflac
I am looking into it too - paperwork due tomorrow (maybe we work at the same place!)
Our decision was that we're going to get accident and due to family history cancer, stroke, heart attack and kidney failure protection.
We didn't think the hospital wouldn't be worth it for us after we figure out the payout - since we dont plan on having kids.

Re: Aflac
Since I'm pregnant already I can't do the short term disability. But I did take out the dental. I just had major dental work done which of course doesn't qualify but everything that has to be done down the road will. For $5 a paycheck, I'll take it.
My motto at the Aflac meeting "a day late and a dollar short" bc I didn't qualify for anything lol

Re: Aflac
We have the cancer and the accident policies. The cancer is sort of a 'God forbid' back up. But I submit the paperwork for my annual paps and skin checks.
The accident plan has been totally worth it. DS had a concussion and went to the hospital-we got back $. DH hurt his back and had surgery. We got thousands back due to physical therapy, all the doctor's appts, surgery etc. When I got in a car accident and had to go to the hospital, once again they gave me $ after submitting the paperwork.

Are skin checks covered? I looked on the claim form and I didn't see it. If so that would be great as DH religously goes for skin checks but getting him to go get the other checks will be difficult.

Holy spelling and grammatical errors on my post. Sorry about that but my auto spell check on my iPhone loves to change things. If you are referring to the "TV" that I'm thinking of then we work for the same company.

Re: Aflac
DH just picked up the info from his job and we will be doing it. We will be doing the short-term disability and personal cancer indemnity. Cancer runs in his family so we feel this will be useful God forbid.
