If you've used invisalign .....

does it hurt? Chat Icon (or is that a stupid question?Chat Icon )

I had braces as a teenager and was horrible about wearing my retainer. My top teeth are fine but the bottoms seem to have shifted slightly. I know it's not huge deal but I figured may as well consider my options. I was thinking about checking out the cost of invisalign. Is it covered under most insurances? Is it uncomfortable?

i dont have an answer but i'm really curious as to what the info is!
Just yesterday DH and I were talking about looking into this for myself for the same reasons as you. Never wore retainer, bottom teeth shifted etc.

Every time you put a new tray in (every 2 weeks), there is some discomfort for about a day or two.

Same! Just started a new set of trays last night/today.

It's not "pain" per say, it's just very uncomfy. Like someone squeezing your teeth together! 2 Advil usually help. As does putting in your new trays at night and sleeping.

I never had braces as a child, so I have a lot of work to be done. I have them for 1 year (26 sets of trays x two weeks per tray). Since DH works for a small company and I work very little PT, we do not have dental insurance so I paid for it all out of pocket. I actually took their 2-year, no interest payment plan and it was pretty reasonable. Some insurances will cover it, if they cover orthodontia.

Yes!!! It hurts. 2-3 days, then you're ok.

I have it now. The first set of trays hurt for the first almost week. I'm up to the third now & they only hurt for the 1st day or 2 of the new trays now. It's not really that painful, but more uncomfy.
