Insanity
I see so much on this now. I understand it's a 60-day program. Is each day something different? How long are the workouts? And what do you get for $150 (ouch).
Thanks. I'm always looking for more workouts I can do at home.

Re: Insanity
I was looking into getting this and found a free workout site that seems to have the same "use your body weight" workouts....see my earlier post (would rather save the $$$ right now)
Free videos...

Re: Insanity
The workouts on Bodyrock are great but having used both I will say that in my opinion Insanity is WAY better.
The program is 60 days. The first month you use a series of 5 different videos, 6 days a week and in month two you switch to a new series of videos. You get the DVDs, a nutrition plan, a calendar with the schedule of you should follow etc.
I borrowed the DVDs from my sister and if I was unable to burn them from her i would DEFINITELY spend the 150 on them. I consider myself to be in very good shape (I lift weights, teach spin and have been training for a while) and I have NEVER done any workouts like this. I sweat and get a butt kicking more than I did during a lot of spin classes. The first month workouts are about 40 minutes each. The second month is closer to 60 minutes each. Each workout includes and extensive warm up, workout and stretch/cool down. I seriously can't recommend it enough.
If you have any questions, please feel free to message me!!

Re: Insanity
Its intense! I am on day 5 and every muscle in my body is sore. I like it so much that I am trying to follow their schedule as close as I can. its 62 or 63 days. There is only 1 rest day a week. It can work for all people (my DH does it too) because you push yourself to your limit during the workouts. (so my DH will do more reps than me in the alloted time, it is just as tough for him as it is for me)

Thanks for the info! Now, after the 2 months is up, do you repeat or stop?

Re: Insanity
I think it depends on your goals. I know some people who take a break. I think I will just keep going! I really love it!

Thanks again. I just don't know if I can handle 3-4 days running plus 6 days committing to that! It does seem intense and an awesome workout. Maybe if i procrastinate enough, the price will come down.

Yeah I understand...what if you did it on days you didn't run? like as your "cross training?"

That's exactly what I would do. I can't imagine I wouldn't see results if I supplement it with running.

Re: Insanity
I wish I got this - I asked for either this or P90X. DH bought me P90X. I think it's because HE wanted to try that one too

my plan is to finish the 60 days as close to their schedule as possible with a few runs thrown in. I want to see dramatic results so I am putting all my energy into this workout. I read some posts on runners world message board from people who did not run while doing Insanity and had their 5K times improve by like 2mins! So I am going to do the 60 days and then go back to my running schedule with Insanity as crosstraining.

Julie, how long is each days workout? and is there a diet the dvds make you follow? If so, how difficult or annoying is the diet?

Re: Insanity
Dana the first month is about 40 minutes. I heard it goes up to 60 minutes month 2. There is a diet but I don't follow it - haven't even looked at it.

Thx for the info...three more questions...
Do you wear your running sneakers?
Tough on the joints/knees? I read that somewhere.
Are you doing Robert Moses Sunday? High of 19 LOL

Re: Insanity
I wore running sneakers the first day and the balls of my feet hurt so bad, so I bought nike crosstrainers and so far so good!
I actually have bad knees and they have been OK
I was planning on doing robert moses but now that you tell me its going to be 19 I don't know
