I was on WW a long time ago and it worked so I've been thinking of joining again... but I can't get to meetings.
In the past, i was able to follow the program at home without going to meetings. Is this still the case? I heard that your daily allotted points are calculated electronically now based on height, weight, and age... and that this gets calculated at the meeting.... so if you don't go to meetings, you won't know how many points you're supposed to be eating as you lose weight? Is there way to calculate this at home?... I really want to start the programs, but the meetings in my area don't fit with my schedule.

If you join WW online you will be able to find out the number of weekly points you get.

I did that in the past too.... and it didn't work for me... i wasn't good at going to the computer to find out food points values... i need to have an actual book that i refer to bc i didn't always have a compuer to go to if I wanted to eat something and needed to know how many points it was.... also i need to track my foods and point values on paper...

This is what I am doing. I joined online for 3 months to start and they told me exactly how many points I get per day/week.

Maybe one of these options will work for you:
-You can join online but go to a center and buy the books you need and use those as a reference, but input your actual weight on the etools each week.
-Join WW using the monthly pass and weigh in once a week. Find out when a local center is open and just stop in to weigh in (less than 5 minutes)- you can find out your value this way.

Re: WW members
I find the meetings are a key tool to the program especially with the new program.

Re: WW members
I did WW years ago and basically just went to get weighed in and get my new stuff. I never sat for the meetings. I just joined WW again and am doing the same thing.

ITA! There are times I can't stay for a meeting, but, run in and out to get weighed.

No offense, but i watch people do this and don't understand. why would you pay to get weighed?

It's just like people who do it online and can't do it. Because when I did it at home it just wasn't working for me. Having someone see my weight progress motivated me. I cheat when I weigh myself. No fooling the person looking at the scale.

Re: WW members
For me, I tried WW online years ago. Couldn't do it on my own. I need the accountability and support of the meetings.

Re: WW members
I believe that registration is free until March. Why don't you do one week, so you get all the tools you need (the book, calculator, etc.) and then maintain it on your own?
