Therapists - The never ending battle
One of DS' SEIT for his home service left me a VM that she will stop seeing him at the end of the month. So much for notice right.
I am losing 3 hours of ABA.
This is always so annoying. I don't know how many therapists have come and go in my house for the past 2 years.
I know, I know... it's a job! But it's so stressful as a parent to find replacements. You think you get the machine rolling for the year then bam you have to start over.
It's just never ending.
OK... vent over!
On a positive note, I am thinking about getting prompt therapy for DS. So now, I have to go back to our SD, battle the approval of more speech and many they will buy it if I don't replace some of his ABA, Maybe it's working out on it's own for new things to come.

Re: Therapists - The never ending battle
Is his school ABA? If so I'd say use the extra time for the PROMPT.
I'm in the same boat except we don't get any home services right now, just a full time program. I have a meeting w/ the district next month and will be asking for family training and more speech in particular PROMT.

He is allowed 2 hours ABA after school and he is in a FT program.
His speech is really an issue. He is STILL non verbal so I have to do something for that. Yes, I could go by without those 3 hours of ABA.
We do get familiy training too.

So is my son! He has lots of sounds/approximations and will say Mama but that's out it. We plan on using any free time after school for speech. We are also trying some supplements as well.

Re: Therapists - The never ending battle
I think this was probably a blessing in disguise. I have been there ! It was a horrible feeling...the time we went without "services" was ridiculous !
Technically, they are supposed to give you 30 days., but noone really seems to stick to many rules.
