Ferel Cat that may be pregnant

My mom has a cat that is hanging around and she thinks that it may be pregnant. She feeds it. I think she is going to put a little house in the yard so she has a safe place to put the babies.

What can we do? Do we catch her before she has the babies? Where do we bring her? Do we wait till after? Will they take the babies?

We are on Staten Island.

Try calling this organization. I know the website says they are not a shelter. But they do rent traps AND I do believe they may help you out or lead you in the right direction.

Years ago, I adopted a kitten for my mom from them, Muffin's Pet Connection, not too far from SI in the Bay Ridge area. It was run by a woman who would rescue pregnant females at shelters who were in danger of being put down. She did this all out of a small storefront. I forget her name but she was amazing.

So give them a call and see if they can direct you what is the best thing for you to do, so that you can help mom and help the babies in finding homes before they too become feral.
