working out after a c section
my ob told me that i can start working out 6 weeks PP. I would really like to get back into running asap, but don't want to push it either. with dd #1 i was not in as big a rush to get back in shape, but since i was in such good shape before i got pg this time, i really want to feel that way much sooner again. realistically, when do you think i can expect to start running again? my goal is to run cow harbor in september, but i'd love to run a few races (5k maybe a 10k) before that.

Re: working out after a c section
I would start out with a light jog....I also was given the all clear 6 weeks pp. I started with the Couch to 5k (I ran the LI Half the year before)...it felt great, but my stomach would go numb after 10 minutes or so. It still happens 6 months later, but not as bad. hopefully that goes away soon.

Re: working out after a c section
after #2 I started walking at 2 weeks PP (with both kids in the stroller). By 5 weeks, I started running on my own, since I felt good. When I went for my 6 week PP, they were OK with it. I ran Cow Harbor at 12 weeks pp.
this pregnancy I plan to do the same - walk at 2 weeks; jog at 5. I have a marathon planned for 7 months PP, I think I'm going to try for a 15K <4 months pp.
I found it easier to start the second time, b/c I knew what to expect.
