If you lost a significant amount of weight...
do you:
look at the scale and the low number and then look in the mirror and not SEE the weight loss? clearly, you are losing/lost weight, but you don't see it that much?
I'm down nearly 40lbs and I see a little of it, but not nearly what I'd imagine 40 lbs to be!
I'm wondering if it is all in my head? maybe it's just how I perceive myself?

Re: If you lost a significant amount of weight...
oh yes, this is me...I've posted about it before
I've lost 60 pounds but still feel "fat" quite often
I see the number on the scale, I see the sized I'm wearing, but it doesn't matter

Re: If you lost a significant amount of weight...
thank you for your response! do you think it's because you are so conditioned to viewing yourself one way that it's hard to switch to another outlook or something?
I never had issues with how I looked (even when I was overweight at times), but now I'm starting to wonder.

I can't agree with this more! I'm down just about 60lbs and I still sometimes feel I haven't lost a thing! I don't know if it's in my head or what! Even going clothes shopping, I come out of the fitting room for SMALLER sizes and I'm like "Yep, still have more to go".
Meanwhile, I have people complimenting me, asking how much I've lost, How I've done it, all the really sweet comments and I STILL have to get it in my head that I really did this!
It really is so wierd and Im glad I'm not alone!

Re: If you lost a significant amount of weight...
I've lost 35lbs so far and I don't see it at all. I know my clothes a looser and I see the # on the scale going down, but I really don't see it when I look in the mirror. I also have a lot more to lose so I think it will take a while to really see dramatic results.

Re: If you lost a significant amount of weight...
Take a new picture of yourself, and hold it next to an old picture. I found when I lost 30 lbs, this is REALLY the way I got it in my head that I changed. You are with yourself all the time, so you see the changes in the mirror gradually. When you see those two pictures side by side, you'll see the change all at once. It is quite striking.

Re: If you lost a significant amount of weight...
You can't see it on yourself. But, other people will start mentioning it.
I lost 50lbs years ago and it took forever for me to feel different.
Take some picture of yourself, and then look at old ones. Then you will really see the difference.
Congrats!!!
