Career change - I don't even know where to start.
I am one of those lucky people with an education degree that can't get a job.
I am ready to make a career change and go for plan B.
I thought a good place to start would be writing a new resume but can't seem to do it.
Im just overwhelmed and stuck about how to really start this process.
My goal is to work one job, making the money I currently make at 2 (which is not much).
Any suggestions on where to start, what to do?

Re: Career change - I don't even know where to start.
I am a teacher who plans to leave the profession next year. I am not yet actively looking, but here are some ideas: - sign up on job websites- I made a profile on a couple and they are not active but it gives me ideas. - talk to a recruiter- I have no idea what we teachers are qualified for! - read/research- I am reading What Color is Your Parachute and it is very helpful. - Public libraries have great resources.
I am also going to take advantage of this summer to take a class- though doing what, I am not sure. But I need/want to make myself more marketable.

Re: Career change - I don't even know where to start.
I dont know if this will help you but my situation is this.....
I got my BA in English became a publicist, than an event coordinator, decided to follow my dreams and go to school to become a broadcaster. I then decided I liked eating, paying bills, etc so i went back to event planning. Got burned out BIG TIME after 1 yr and was fired. I then decided to get my Masters in ED and here we are 2 classes & student teaching away from graduating and I am PHYSICALLY SICK over the situation.
If I could go back 3 yrs ago, when I started my Masters program, I would of gone to school to be a Massage Therapist or a graphic designer.
You are def qualified, you have an education. I would sit do w/a recruiter and think about what you want to do. Things are going to turn around for teaching...not sure how long it will take but, it will happen!
Good Luck!
