I kept trying not to look at them, but I couldn't help it... I knew they'd end up being like that, but it really makes me sick.

I agree! They have no idea what they're talking about. Just jealousy! But like others have said, the grass is always greener.....

This was a great article. People don't realize that this is the way of life for many teachers. I have been teaching 8 years and there is no way I could open up a binder and use a lesson plan from years ago. Things change (ex: the common core standards) and the KIDS change. Maybe our teachers growing up were able to do this but in todays world NO WAY!
I love my job and may joke with my DH that I would trade with him because be works 8 hrs a day and takes nothing home with him and doesn't work during his weekends or vacations. However, even though I joke, I woudnt trade what I do for anything
With that said, the comments are disgusting! Its amazing how ignorant and misinformed people are. I am sure there are some teachers who don't " work nights, weekends or vacations" but the majority of teachers do.
Just this week alone, so many teacher friends of mine have gone in to their schools for 4-6 hours a day to set up for the new year.
No matter what, the bashing will continue. We need to just ignore it, no matter how difficult it is and keep doing what we do

Loved the article. Although, I didn't spend quite as much time as the writer did to prepare for the upcoming year, I still agree with all he has to say!
