Does Marty need a jacket for winter?
I am wondering if I need to get a coat or sweater for Marty for the colder weather. He is about 13 lbs right now, Mini Schnauzer. Thoughts?

He probably could use one. Get him used to it now, so he will learn to like it. But yes, they do get chilly! My dogs do have coats b./c they SHIVER when it gets cold. Coats really do keep them warm.

Re: Does Marty need a jacket for winter?
Charlie has long fur in the winter but when she plays in the snow she literally sinks in it. She is only 15 lbs. And she comes out with giant balls of snow all matted in her fur...which must make her incredibly cold...and then she comes inside and they melt all over the house!
This year I am going to try to crochet her a sweater! I want her entire torso covered with something I can just take off...so the snow balls will come off too!
I just hope I can do it! There are people at the library who can help me if I can't get it to come out right!

Re: Does Marty need a jacket for winter?
Darwin (also a mini schanuz) HATES clothing and is quite dramatic about it. But he LOVES the cold. He'll stand on our back deck forever just sniffing the air with the breeze in his beard. When there is snow on the ground he smashes himself into it and burries his face in the snow(He's an adorable weirdo) But on REALLY cold days I put a sweater on him before he goes out. We also always get him his last haircut the week before Thanksgiving and then he only gets baths from then until March so he's a big furball all winter so that probably helps.
