Post Gall Bladder Surgery
Since the gall bladder surgery I have not been hungry at all (surgery was 11.18). I have lost the 8 pounds I had gained from the surgery in 1 week. Is that normal??? I am exhausted and weak. I also feel like there is a hole where the gall bladder used to be.
Thanks

not to get too personal, but are you "backed up"? It is possible that if you aren't pooping too often, you could be backed up and therefore not hungry. That kind of surgery temporarily messes with your digestive system.

No I wish. I called the surgeon and he said it is very normal and I might not show interest in food for 8 weeks. I have been craving chocolate. On a positive note I am down almost 12.

Re: Post Gall Bladder Surgery
To be honest I came home the day of the surgery STARVING I hadn't eaten in 3 days due to being so sick from the attack that landed me in the hospital. Then after surgery they only allowed me a tray of liquids- and I was STARVING. They said when I got home I could eat solids, but go light. I was ready to eat the whole fridge. The next night, DH and I went out to dinner.
As far as feeling a hole- I didn't feel that, but I did feel like my organs were not in the right place- or shifting around- as crazy and silly as that sounds. It was just an odd feeling that I chalked up to the healing process.
My only side effect was constant diahrehha for almost 1 year!

My mom was this way. After her surgery she had no appetite and lost weight. It took a few weeks for her to feel back to normal again.

yes, i felt there was something missing. like i didn't have...the gall
but i ate like a maniac afterwards. between not eating well before the attack, then waiting 3 days (memorial day weekend) for a surgeon to operate in the hospital on a liquid diet, i lost like 15lbs just being there.
