If you (or someone you know) had your gall bladder out, could you...
eat fruit after the surgery? I just got a call that my good friend had hers out in an emergency surgery on Monday & I'd like to send her an Edible Arrangement, but I'm not sure if she'll be able to eat it since the bouquets tend to be very citrus-y...

My dad just had his taken out last week. The dr. said he could eat whatever he wanted right away.

Another friend of mine had hers out last year & I remember her having probs w/food, but it must have been before the surgery. It's all fuzzy now...

i had it out back in 1996. i've never had any issues with what i could eat. send the fruit basket... although, being in the hospital, in general, might make her not want to eat much.

We just sent my admin an Edible arrangement two weeks ago for her gall bladder surgery. She had no food restrictions.

I had mine out and I had no restrictions the hospital actual gave me a steak and potatoes the same day.

when I had my gallbladder out my friends sent me a basket of chocolate. As much as I wanted to eat it, the thought of it made me sick. I wasn't eating much, but I think it took at least a week to get my appetite back. So you should be ok.

Had mine out a few years ago.
No food restrictions, however, I didn't want to look at food for a few days after the surgery.

Fruit is fine to eat ! when I had my gall bladder out all they told me was to try and steer clear of fatty foods or fastfoods..
But I'll be honest, I haven't even done that and I have been feeling fine!

Had mine out and yes, you can eat anything.
Even greasy food that used to cause me pain!
