What would your budget be if
You had 3 children in 3 different schools.
1 is Pre-K and her day extends past preschool and then the daycare staff watches her.
The other in in Kindergarten and also goes to aftercare.
The other is in Boces in a class with a teacher and 3 aides.
Thats not even including any specials!
I dont know what to do. I want them to all know were thinking of them, but Im in the middle of purchasing a house.
Im thinking we better get drawing (cards) LOL

Re: What would your budget be if
I think it gets very expensive. This year my DD has 4 teachers in her classroom...she is in an inclusion class this year and so there is the Reg Ed teacher and the Spec Ed teacher, as well as the classroom aide and one-on-one aide. The 1:1 aide is for a boy who sits at her table so even though she isn't assigned to Emily, I know she does help all of the children at the table at times, my daughter included.
We are doing $20 GCs to DD for each of the main teachers. We will get $10 GCs for each of the aides in the classroom. The special teachers are getting cards and little candy packages that we will make up.
I read about all of these people who are spending cummulative hundreds of dollars on the teachers for their kids. It makes me feel sad that we can't do more. I was a teacher for 8 years and I am certainly very appreciative of the great job they are doing with my daughter. But it isn't in our budget. I am hoping that the small gifts we are able to afford are well appreciated and let them know that we are thankful for the work that they do!
Sometime a thoughtful card with a nice, handwritten letter can mean more to a teacher then something material. Letting them know how much you appreciate the work they do, in a personal way!

Re: What would your budget be if
I know how you feel.
I have 3 kids now and the older 2 are in Elementary school and they each have 2 teachers and then the baby just moved up very recently to a different room which has 2 teachers and the infant room she's been in has 2 teachers and then in between she had another teacher. Not including the fill in's during lunch!
We most certainly don't even have the $20.00-$10.00 per teacher since that's well over $100. I also feel bad with others doing the higher amounts of gift cards, but we're just going to do what we can, which isn't much, and that's it. Even if it's little gift bags with dollar stuff in it. It's the thought that counts. I'll probably get Target dollar stuff as well as a dollar scratch off in each bag.

Talk to the class moms about doing a collection.
It's expensive for me with my 2. I'm already up to $200 without gym, library, or music. I think I'm getting them $5 gift cards.

Re: What would your budget be if
I always put in the class collections. Then I have the kids make their teacher something, and add in a $10 Starbucks card (or something similar)
I couldnt afford much in the past, and now that we bought a new house, I can afford even less.
I saw some cute crafts online that I'm going to have them do.
